This is a relatively new introduction for use as hedging. It is evergreen but unlike “common laurel”, it only grows to a max height of 2 metres (6.8 – 7ft). It is very easy to maintain and has beautiful white flowers in mid spring – early summer. Also, when this plant is making new growth it produces red growing tips, hence the name “Etna”. This plant is more than adequate to provide shelter and privacy to gardens. Plant 2-3ft apart depending on size.
