Mitraria coccinea - 'Lake Caburgua'

Plant Characteristics:
Mitraria Coccinea is a gorgeous, rare species from Chile with brilliant red flowers about 1½ inch with the texture of velvet. The velvety, flowers appear singly, in pairs, or in threes all over the plant. Mitraria is an evergreen shrub and is both a creeping and climbing plant. It can climb several feet up a fence or trellis, and it can be used as a medium sized shrub in your garden.



Watering conditions:
Humid areas with almost constant rainfall, which makes it an ideal choice for Irish gardens. Grows well in shaded postition. Can tolerate -10C freezing conditions.
